Sensoji Temple Area is easily accessible from several points in Tokyo using the JR Pass.

From Shinjuku Station, Sensoji is only 20 minutes on the JR Chuo Line and the Ginza Line. The temple is only a 5-minute walk from Asakusa Station.

If you’re looking for a traditional Japanese experience, I recommend visiting Asakusa Shrine. It is a must-see for any visitor to Tokyo and since you’re going for sure to see the magnificient Senso-Ji temple, be sure to not miss this shrine to which is in the same area.

Here are some additional tips for visiting Asakusa Shrine:

  • Wear comfortable shoes. You’ll be doing a lot of walking.
  • Bring a camera. You’ll want to capture the amazing views.
  • Be respectful of the shrine. It is a sacred place, so be sure to dress appropriately and be quiet.
